THE ROAD AGAIN ...
It feels like A LONG time since I've been on the road for work, a really really long time if I was to hazard a guess, IO'd have said 3 months ... it is in fact only 5 weeks. I suppose that's one of the symptoms of spending so long travelling over winter.
After a spell of working locally (in the UK) on a variety of projects (and also doing a bit of climbing too !!!) the time has come again for me to head off on another journey, I'm going to MelloBlocco.
It's the third year in a row that I'll be visiting, but the first time that I will be there on assignment, as it were. If you don't know about the event here is my five-point summary:
- IT'S A BOULDERING FESTIVAL
- AND ALSO A CLIMBING COMPETITION
- IT'S HELD IN ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VALLEYS IN EUROPE
- AND SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 5000-10,000 PEOPLE GO EVERY YEAR
- WITHOUT A DOUBT THERE WILL BE RAIN, WALL-TO-WALL SUNSHINE AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN
As well as being the first time I've been commissioned to go, it is also the first time that I will be going without Leah, which is a strange feeling. I will miss her so much. However I am sure that having a rather extensive shot list and team of athletes to chase up and down the hills will be a distraction while I'm there!
More than anything, I am really excited to be heading back to the valley, it's beautiful. Especially to shoot such a brilliant group of people (stay tuned to my FB channel for more info on that).
SPECIAL NOTE ... I'LL BE TAKING OVER THE MARMOT INSTAGRAM CHANNEL WHILE I AM THERE. Keep your eyes peeled for that one too.
Stay psyched folks // LL
