the journal

I often grapple with the decision of where and how to focus my energy ... more shoots? more editing? more social? more writing? more networking? more training? More, more, more.

Seemingly, time becomes less and less available as my attention is divided between all those things and more.

Over the years, this ‘journal’ or blog, or whatever you want to call it, has been a number of things to me — a tool to voice opinions, an outlet for somewhere to share my adventures, a space for reviews and gear tests ... however of late, it’s been silent. The silence comes not from having a lack of meaningful or worthy content, rather the fact that my attention has been divided and diverted elsewhere.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, I want to make it clear that this post is neither a promise of consistent articles and posts, nor ‘a final farewell’; think of it as acknowledgement of its existence and my desire to continue with it.

Late last year (2017), after a multi-year hiatus, I started to write a journal again. A hand-written, pen and paper type affair. Broadly speaking it’s mostly a splurge of the inner workings of my mind as they happen, so it’s definitely better to keep those where they are. That said, it has been pointed out to me that some of those writings deserve to see the light of day ... whether or not that happens remains to be seen. However it has inspired me to rekindle publishing some of my lengthier, more topical writing with you.

So, for now, I’ll say this, I’ll be back soon. Very soon. Hope you guys think it is worth the wait. LL
